Welcome to HL7 Australia Training

The Australian Digital Health Agency (Agency) engaged HL7 Australia to develop a suite of training materials to support the development of the Australian health technology workforce in line with the objectives of the National Digital Health Strategy and the actions in the Connecting Australian Health Care – National Interoperability Plan (the Plan). Through the Plan, FHIR is endorsed as a national standard. The partnership between HL7 Australia and the Agency is a significant step forward in ensuring Australian health care benefits for the digital transformation underway. Throughout 2023 spaces on courses will be made available at no charge to ensure equity of access to the courses and the valuable skills they will impart to attendees.

Use of optimal learning techniques

You will receive preparatory materials, videos and modules
which will provide you with the necessary knowledge before the course begins.

Live Training

A FHIR expert will deliver live training, online or in-person, for you or your team. You’ll have real-time, live help as you work on exercises or participate in group discussions.

E-learning

E-learning allows you to learn about a topic in a self-paced manner.

Hands-on exercises & group activities

The courses include plenty of hands-on and group-based exercises. This allows you to gain the practical experience and skills you willneed for your FHIR project.

Blended Learning

Blended learning is a method of teaching that integrates e-learning and digital media with live training, giving you more flexibility in customising your learning experience.

The Australian Digital Health Agency engaged HL7 Australia to develop FHIR training to suit the Australian context. The course syllabus, teaching materials and technology will be delivered in collaboration with CSIRO and the Centre for Digital Transformation of Health at the University of Melbourne.
